Die
moderne Stadt wächst und wandelt sich ständig. Nirgendwo in Deutschland
ist das so deutlich zu sehen wie in Frankfurt. Welche Auswirkung hat
der stete Wandel auf Orte und Mentalitäten? Die Gruppenausstellung
Passagen im con[SPACE] widmet sich dieser Frage und zeigt künstlerische
Beiträge, die sich der Stadt und ihren Bewohnern auf unterschiedliche
Weise nähern. Während die Frankfurter Hauptschule mit einer Aktion auf
einen kollektiven Ritus reagiert, dokumentiert Agata Pietrzik einen Tag
lang die persönlichen Gewohnheiten eines Freundes. Statt einer geplanten
Intervention in den öffentlichen Raum präsentiert Daniel Djamo die
Auseinandersetzung mit seiner Mutter darüber. Girmachew Getnet trägt im
Rahmen einer Performance die universalisierte Flagge als Symbol der
Völkerverständigung an verschiedene Orte ins Ostend und Christian Engels
Aufnahmen der letzten Momente des AfE-Turms lassen sich lesen wie ein
Dialog zwischen David und Goliath.
Mit der Gruppenausstellung an
mehreren Schauplätzen im ATELIERFRANKFURT schließt die temporäre
Videogalerie con[SPACE] ihre Pforten. Das Finale ist Teil der Reihe
“Transit bewegt Rhein-Main” von KulturRegion und Kulturfonds.
Beim Eröffnungsabend ist die Künstlergruppe Mobile Albania zu Gast, die
für die Reihe "Transit bewegt Rhein-Main" einen Oldtimerbus zum
Hörspielbus umgestaltet. Er nimmt Passagiere mit auf eine kurze
akustische Reise. Außerdem lassen wir die bisherigen Ausstellungen im
con[SPACE] von sternmorgenstern, Michel Klöfkorn, Sarah Bonnert, Sandip
Shah, Florian Tuercke & Jos Diegel in einer kleinen Dokumentation
Revue passieren.
///The modern city is in a state
of constant growth and development. Nowhere in Germany does this become
more obvious than in Frankfurt. But what are the consequences of this
process for the places and mentalities? The works of the group show
“passages” in the video gallery con[SPACE] deal with these questions,
zooming in on the city and its inhabitants in various ways. While the
artist group “Frankfurter Hauptschule” addresses a collective ritual of
belonging, Agata Pietrzik documents the everyday life and routines of an
individual. Instead of an actual intervention Daniel Djamo presents the
dispute with his mother over a performance in public space. In his
series of performances, Girmachew Getnet brings universalised flags to
different places of Frankfurt’s East End. And Christian Engel’s
photographic documents of the last days of the former university tower
AfE can be read in terms of a dialogue between David and Goliath.
With
a group exhibition in different locations of the studio house
ATELIERFRANKFURT the temporary video gallery con[SPACE] reaches its
finale as part of the project “Transit moves Rhein-Main” by KulturRegion
und Kulturfonds. During the opening the artist collective “Mobile
Albania” will be our guests, who have designed a “Transit Bus” for the
project “Transit moves Rhein-Main”. Furthermore, we take the
opportunity to look back on the previous exhibitions at con[SPACE] by
sternmorgenstern, Michel Klöfkorn, Sarah Bonnert, Sandip Shah, Florian
Tuercke & Jos Diegel.
